Trip #64 (32): Salida, Gunnison's Taylor Park Reservoir & Crested Butte

August 5 - 11, 2014
First night in Salida along the Arkansas River at a private campground.
A few days camped north of Gunnison at Taylor Reservoir, ATV capital of the world. Got a bit of fishing in, and of course, the big one got away.
And a few days in Crested Butte, with a visit to Lake Irwin. Lots of fish jumping but none biting.
A kayak trip, not much hiking. But we did find two cute Frenchies in Salida! Lily and Bruiser.

Taylor Reservoir north of Gunnison.

Finally testing out the kite we got in San Franciso. Works good, too good. no running required.

View out the door to Taylor Reservoir.

Gunnison gray jay.
One of the little ones at Taylor Reservoir.

Dutch oven lasagna at Gunnison.

The streets of Crested Butte.

RIP: Robin Williams died on the 11th, day of our return.

RIP: Joan Rivers, Sept. 4 - day we left for Santa Fe without the trailer.
