Trip #41 (9): Arizona: Superstition Mountains and Tempe

January 8 - 15, 2012

Arizona: Lost Dutchman State Park and Tempe

Sunday 8 - Left sunny, 25-degree Durango at 9:30 am. Hardly any snow out there, so easy to get the trailer out of storage early in Bayfield. Drove southwest into cloudy weather, even a little fresh snow near Windowrock. Arrived at Black Canyon KOA for the first night about 5:30, listening to the Broncos game on Sirrius. During setup the Broncs won fast in OT. Beautiful clear night and a full moon. A big breezy and cool and we should have walked but being tired we ate in, watched cable TV and went to bed early.

Monday 9 - Cool, sunny windy morning. Went across the way to Rock Springs for breakfast (Bill remembers their pies from oh, the 60s). It was OK, but he said the pies sure have shrunk. Drove way south to Chandler area
